Title: Construction Operations Supervisor

Department: Operations Reports to: Director of Operations Salary Grade: Exempt

Overview:

The Construction Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing construction activities within their assigned area. This role involves collaborating closely with the Director of Operations and Senior Construction Managers to ensure a streamlined building process, optimize resource utilization to fulfill production targets, and implement analytical tools to proactively identify and resolve operational challenges. The incumbent will manage all construction operational protocols, project execution, quality standards, and project profitability, while also guiding specific projects to completion. The individual is expected to contribute innovative insights, enhance processes, and propose effective business strategies to benefit the team and the organization.

• Supervise a team of construction professionals.

• Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.

• Create development plans to enhance team capabilities.

• Ensure the team is updated on relevant codes and regulations.

  • Process Improvement:

• Facilitate ongoing team and individual development.

• Implement new processes to enhance operational efficiency.

• Maintain consistency in construction team procedures.

  • Project Coordination:

• Oversee project initiation to maximize resource efficiency.

• Monitor project timelines and ensure readiness of necessary information.

• Strive for a balanced workflow of new projects.

  • General Project Oversight:

• Coordinate logistics for material deliveries.

• Resolve project-specific issues and liaise with other departments.

• Assess team workload and adjust project assignments as needed.

  • Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle.

• Develop a performance rating system for trade partners.

• Ensure properties meet cleanliness and marketability standards.

  • Vendor Relationship Management:

• Onboard new trade partners to ensure operational success.

• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to achieve objectives.

• Forecast resource needs based on production goals.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, ideally in a supervisory role.

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.

• Proficient in relevant software applications.

• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.

• Ability to manage resources through complex scheduling processes.

• Excellent organizational skills to track production timelines and initiatives.

Miscellaneous Duties:

• This role is part of the Operations Team, responsible for delivering high-quality projects on time.
