Job Description

Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, CA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the production process from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production-related areas, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the receipt and review of raw metadata and assets delivered by clients prior to submission into supply chain systems.
  • Create and submit releases into client's digital supply chain systems, ensuring client's metadata and asset standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of client style guides and their relation to delivery systems and DSP requirements.
  • Ensure submission lead time requirements are met given a project's timeline.
  • Anticipate technical and operational issues around projects and work with clients, operational teams, and other stakeholders to mitigate risk.
  • Communicate project status, key operational activities, and issue resolution within the production team, with clients, and across relevant internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with production teammates and leaders to develop processes that improve results, efficiency, client experience, and relations, and coordination with other teams.
  • Manage client and interdepartmental expectations on feasibility of requests, system capabilities, and standard operating procedures.
  • Advise on when and where special exceptions can be reasonably deployed for greatest impact and minimal risk.
  • Work in coordination with the supply chain and operations teams to address technical and DSP issues on critical projects.
  • Manage physical planning, production, and timelines in coordination with clients and relevant internal teams.
  • Oversee the delivery of physical release elements to manufacturing vendors.
  • Act as an invested, expert stakeholder in ongoing system development and process improvement efforts.
  • Provide backup coverage for other team members and contribute to special projects and wider business initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Solid technical and operational expertise in production-related areas.
  • 1-2 years' experience with label copy.
  • Stellar organizational, administrative, and analytical skills.

Nice to Have:

  • 1-2 years music industry experience – preferably in a label management, metadata, or supply chain capacity.
  • Experience with Monday, Slack, Airtable, and similar tools a plus.
  • Experience with top digital music service interfaces, social media applications, and digital music best practices a major plus.
  • Knowledge of and relationships within the independent music community a major plus.
  • Understanding of audio, video, and image formats a major plus.
  • Some expertise in physical operations and production, keeping up to date with current trends, a plus.
