JOB SUMMARY:


The Product Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the development of innovative solutions and market strategies that support SMBC's commercial banking initiatives, particularly in the areas of payments, integrated payables, integrated receivables, and API banking.

As a key member of the Marketing, Product, and Cash Management Services (MPAC) team, the Product Manager is responsible for formulating strategies and proposing new product features aimed at enhancing customer engagement and utilization of our offerings.

This role involves acting as a product champion within cross-functional teams, presenting new product initiatives and enhancements that align with revenue and profit goals while contributing to the bank's growth strategy.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead as a change agent: identify opportunities, devise solutions, and formulate go-to-market strategies.
Advocate for the product line by effectively communicating product positioning, key benefits, and value propositions.

This includes the development and maintenance of the product line roadmap, defining product requirements, and overseeing the launch of new products and services.

Establish the strategic direction for the product line to ensure the availability of competitive, compliant, marketable, and profitable products tailored to target customer segments.

Continuously assess and enhance actively marketed products, identify revenue enhancement opportunities, monitor profitability, and manage changes to assigned products.

Analyze the implications of regulatory changes, conduct risk assessments, and incorporate bank initiatives and customer needs into new or improved products and services.

Lead cross-functional project teams in the creation and launch of new products and enhancements based on market demands, collaborating with Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, Marketing, and other stakeholders to execute effective product launches, promotions, and campaigns.

This includes the development of project plans, presentations, training materials, and communications related to product launches.
Collaborate with Operations and segment leaders to develop and maintain policies and procedures, and document workflows for client onboarding.
Create product collateral, website content, and sales materials to support the product line and client engagement.
Design product promotions to attract clients, deepen relationships, and enhance the overall client experience.
Work with other product managers to create comprehensive offers that enhance client relationships, including credit and cash management services.
Coordinate with Marketing and segment leaders to manage industry conferences, ensuring the availability of necessary product collateral and promotional materials.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in product management and banking, with a focus on Cash Management products and services.
Experience in payments and API banking is preferred.

Strong project management and technical expertise are essential.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance; MBA preferred.
Proven ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, demonstrating leadership in product development teams comprising cross-functional experts, marketing colleagues, and vendors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, presentation abilities, and project management expertise. Capability to train and present to both small and large audiences.
Ability to convey findings and recommendations to senior organizational levels.

Proficient in collaborating effectively with individuals and groups across the organization and with vendor partners to ensure positive customer experiences and timely problem resolution.

Skilled in building relationships with clients and adept at identifying client challenges and requirements.
Demonstrated capacity to articulate strategic concepts and outline a strategic course of action.
Proven track record of delivering product growth.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
Strong work ethic; self-motivated, passionate, and results-driven.
