About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Community Liaison to join our team at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. As a key member of our Government and Community Relations Division, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with federal, state, and local elected officials, community boards, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective engagement strategies to foster collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, and other external partners.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to project teams on community engagement and outreach initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and other materials to stakeholders, including elected officials, community boards, and other external partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement community engagement and outreach plans.
  • Monitor and analyze community feedback and concerns, and provide recommendations to project teams on how to address them.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in government relations, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in public policy, political science, community planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize competing interests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel within the five boroughs of New York City and attend evening and occasional weekend meetings.
  • Driver's license preferred.
