Position Overview:

The HR Operations Specialist will collaborate closely with the Regional HR Manager and the Plant Manager, overseeing HR functions at the ITW Appliance facility in New Berlin, WI. This role is pivotal in managing the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to training and engagement, while providing essential HR support and policy implementation. The specialist will also engage in analytical reporting and contribute to the development of HR initiatives that align with the division's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the payroll coordinator, ensuring accurate biweekly payroll processing and providing training for managers and employees on payroll systems.
  • Manage employee relations to uphold consistent policy application, including coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture focused on safety, engagement, and productivity.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with employees, promoting a positive organizational image.
  • Support full-cycle talent acquisition, including job descriptions, candidate sourcing, interviews, and onboarding processes.
  • Stay informed on labor laws and ensure compliance in HR policies and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and manage data within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Champion the college internship program and oversee leave of absence and workers' compensation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within HR operations using the ITW Toolbox.
  • Assist in the performance management and compensation processes for employees.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding benefits and educate employees on available self-service applications.
  • Play an active role in wellness program management and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Skills and Competencies:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A strong understanding of HR needs within a business context and the ability to provide proactive feedback and solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.
  • Capability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and conducting employee training sessions.
