Drives Service Workshop Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to service a range of standard drive units and subassemblies. Each day, you will strive for the most effective and economical resolution to problems. You will demonstrate your skills by executing tasks with a first-time right approach, ensuring timely completion while adhering to quality standards. The work model for this role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite. This role contributes to the Motion Service division in the USA. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Enhancing customer satisfaction by executing workshop orders in accordance with established processes and guidelines.
• Conducting workshop activities such as troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing.
• Reviewing bills of materials and other documentation to determine necessary parts for service tasks, ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are readily available.
• Completing, processing, and maintaining all required documentation.

Qualifications for the role
  • Associate's degree in electronics with two years of relevant experience; or a High school diploma with four years of related electrical experience.
  • Must be capable of passing the Electrical Competency and Authorization Program (ECAP) level 3.
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and their applications is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, bills of materials, assembly drawings, and procedure manuals. Capability to complete work assignments and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk and communicate effectively. The employee may occasionally need to sit, reach above shoulders, operate equipment, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Candidates must already possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
