Position Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator will report to the Regional HR Manager and work closely with the Plant Manager, overseeing HR functions at the ITW Appliance manufacturing and office location. This role is pivotal in providing daily HR support and policy administration throughout the employee life cycle, which encompasses hiring, training, employee relations, and fostering an engaged culture focused on learning and development. The HR Coordinator will also provide technical expertise, reporting, and analytical support, actively participating in the HR team to recommend, develop, and implement HR programs that align with the division's objectives. Collaboration with other HR professionals within the division, segment, and enterprise is essential, along with managing special projects as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as payroll coordinator for the plant, ensuring accurate biweekly payroll processing and providing training for managers and employees on payroll matters.
  • Manage employee relations to uphold consistent policy application, including coaching, investigations, progressive discipline, and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with management and team members to promote and sustain cultural initiatives centered on safety, employee engagement, and a positive work environment.
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with all employees, fostering trust and credibility to maintain a positive company image.
  • Support full-cycle talent acquisition efforts, including job descriptions, candidate sourcing, interviews, offers, and onboarding, while managing third-party recruitment and temporary staffing contracts.
  • Stay informed about state and federal labor laws and ensure compliance in policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Maintain employee records and HR files, processing data in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Champion the local college internship program.
  • Oversee leave of absence programs and workers' compensation claims.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HR processes using the ITW Toolbox.
  • Assist in the performance management and compensation processes for both non-exempt and exempt employees.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs and educate employees on self-service applications.
  • Engage in wellness program management, community giving campaigns, and Employee Resource Group activities.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant internship experience and a minimum of 2 years in Human Resources are essential.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:

  • Understand HR needs within the business and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Exhibit excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Office and Excel.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations and handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Conduct presentations and organize employee training sessions.
  • Exercise good judgment with confidential information.
