Senior Project Coordinator

Contract Position

Location: Remote and On-site

Brooksource is in search of a Senior Project Coordinator to support our esteemed government client. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, multi-vendor environment, effectively managing a hybrid workforce that includes both in-person and remote team members. Exceptional communication skills and a robust background in formal IT project management are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage the government client's Project Portfolio Management Tool (Clarity) to create project timelines, allocate resources, and oversee budgets.
  • Prepare and present information tailored to diverse audiences, including executives, managers, and project teams.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring effective management of costs, schedules, scopes, resources, quality, and risks.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders, including project sponsors and team members, regarding project status using appropriate communication channels.
  • Facilitate collaboration between technical and business teams, ensuring consensus and commitment to project goals.
  • Develop and uphold essential project management deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, including:
    • Project Charter
    • Project Schedule
    • Project Budget
    • Communication Plan
    • Project Status Report
    • Risk and Issue Management Plans
    • Change Requests
    • Project Closure Summary
  • Manage communication interfaces with other agencies effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to the SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) and System Engineering Methodology (SEM), facilitating timely transitions through project phases.
  • Oversee the Change Management process, ensuring all Change Requests receive necessary approvals before implementation.
  • Develop Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for projects identified as being in yellow or red status.
  • Assess project benefits and the implications of change requests on business cases, ensuring all related project documentation is updated accordingly.
  • Review vendor contracts to ensure compliance with deliverables and approval procedures.
  • Clarify stakeholder expectations and ensure all project deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in IT project management (industry standards and best practices): Required, 7 years
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget: Required, 7 years
  • Experience in establishing and managing project budgets, schedules, and change requests: Required, 7 years
  • Proficient in developing and delivering project status updates: Required, 7 years
  • Experience with project portfolio management systems (e.g., Clarity): Required, 5 years
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification: Highly Desired, 3 years
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project: Required, 5 years
  • Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders and system owners: Highly Desired, 5 years
  • Experience managing projects in a multi-vendor government environment: Highly Desired, 5 years
