Job SummaryThe Lead Veterinary Technician will assist veterinarians in the care of animals, including restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, and ensuring that equipment is in working order. This role requires strong technical skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, performing laboratory analysis, and client education.
Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in the care of animals, including restraining animals when necessary
- Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies and ensure equipment is in working order
- Perform technical skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring
- Administer medications, perform laboratory analysis, and educate clients
- Communicate with clients and update patient files
- Prior veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Current state licensure in good standing for veterinary technician roles
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
