Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team at American Veterinary Group. As a key member of our veterinary department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the care of animals, including restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, and ensuring that equipment is in working order.
  • Perform technical skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, performing laboratory analysis, and client education.
  • Communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a hands-on environment.
  • Be energetic, people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills.
  • Be compassionate/caring.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Be able to work individually, as well as on a team.
  • Have a self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction.
  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is required.
