About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant/Billing Specialist to join our team at Moore DM Group. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for completing various assigned accounting and reconciliation tasks, including reviewing pre-bills, creating final accounts receivable invoices, and updating management reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting and Reconciliation: Review pre-bills to ensure proper completion, including client, job name, and required components. Create final accounts receivable invoices, including sales tax calculation, and ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Analysis: Review final postage and postage deposits, confirming they match the postage chart and postal statements. Update management reports regularly, including priority lists and amounts booked versus billed discrepancies for sales adjustments.
  • Support Functions: Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing, purchase order, and receiving functions as needed. Complete review of costs versus sales and confirm accuracy before closing job.
  • Client Support: Make necessary adjustments and corrections as requested by client services representatives, clients, or management.
Requirements
  • Experience: Five or more years of experience in accounting and billing, with salary commensurate with experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Skills: Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Standards to assigned tasks. Ability to adapt to various computer software programs for efficient data gathering and analysis. Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data. Ability to reconcile complex accounts.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
