About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at The MITRE Corporation. As a key member of our Indo-Pacific Regional Operations Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and the Military Service Components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the development and implementation of Integrated Joint Fires Center (IJFC) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with government sponsors, MITRE staff, and other stakeholders to identify and address theater fires challenges.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including INDOPACOM and Service Component leaders.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering plans and campaigns to support INDOPACOM's fires efforts.
  • Work with supporting functions, such as Intel, to develop solutions to theater fires challenges.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in systems engineering, with experience working with the Department of Defense.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fires processes at the operational and strategic level.
  • Working knowledge of Joint and Service targeting and fire control systems.
  • Strong system-of-systems engineering experience across various mission sets.
  • Prior experience with US Department of Defense systems of systems integration.
  • Effective and influential oral communications skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • An active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 5 years' experience.
  • Working knowledge of model-based systems engineering, operational analysis, and modeling & simulation.
  • Current knowledge of emerging technology being adopted into acquisition programs and/or the INDOPACOM theater.
  • Familiarity with MITRE project management processes, capabilities, and associated tools.
  • Demonstrated capability for strategic planning and ability to provide actionable plans to government sponsors.
  • Experience with and/or future interest in project and department leadership roles, including project leader, task leader, and group leader.
