We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Honolulu, Hawai'i. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering fire protection projects and consulting services to our clients in Hawai'i, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and other Pacific Island locations.
Key Responsibilities- Support effective relationships with key clients in the Pacific, including NAVFAC, Air Force, GWA, CUC, DPW, local municipal, private, and others.
- Deliver fire protection consulting and engineering design on a variety of U.S. Federal projects and local government projects.
- Prepare fire protection and fire alarm reports, plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Work with cross-discipline teams on other market sector projects.
- Plan and own the delivery of mechanical / fire protection reports, plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Provide fire code and fire protection consulting services.
- Lead and contribute to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects.
- Manage stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate the work of the team, mentor less experienced team members.
- Provide creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities.
- Documented success at all stages of the project life-cycle, including writing feasibility studies, preparing basis of design reports, consulting, developing detailed design drawings and specifications, and providing construction support, and coordinating with cross-discipline teams.
- Exceptional track record with project execution.
- Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines.
- A self-starter with sound judgment and decisiveness.
- Experience working with the Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) and other Department of Defense engineering requirements.
- Experience working with the International Fire Code and the NFPA codes.
- Able and willing to travel to project job sites and client offices as needed.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an ABET accredited school in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional consulting engineering experience with exposure to defense, building, architectural, industrial, or related projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Hawai'i (Fire Protection) or ability to obtain Hawai'i fire protection license within 6 months. Other state engineering registrations may be considered.
- Must be a US Citizen.
