Position SummaryWe are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to deliver specialized Fire Protection Engineering design support for various projects undertaken by our clients. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fire protection engineering assessments for both new and existing structures, including the development of plans, specifications, calculations, and estimates for active and passive fire protection systems.
- Work closely with project teams to align project scope, schedules, and budgets with client expectations.
- Provide technical reviews and recommendations to mitigate project delays, ensuring timely responses within established deadlines.
- Research and interpret relevant codes, regulations, and policies to offer informed technical guidance.
- Utilize innovative engineering principles to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Engage with government clients, project stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project progress.
- Organize and lead meetings, document discussions, and communicate project findings effectively.
- Review and assess technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Support the review of commissioning plans and field inspections as needed.
- Summarize project accomplishments during regular meetings and prepare monthly status reports.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Security Clearance: Secret (Tier 3 preferred) or ability to obtain.
- Proven experience in fire protection engineering, including the design and analysis of fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles relevant to multi-disciplinary project design.
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and design software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Ability to learn new software tools as required.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant design management or engineering experience.
- Graduate of an accredited engineering program (Bachelor's degree).
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for at least 60% of the time.
- Capable of operating standard office equipment.
- Ability to perform light lifting, under 10 lbs.
