Job Summary

Peoples Gas System is seeking an Administrative Specialist II to perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of our operations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Communicate with internal and external customers, responding to inquiries and resolving customer service complaints
Perform general data maintenance and reporting, including creating charts, graphs, and databases
Assist with time administration, including tracking and recording time keeping data and creating requisitions
Handle requests for demolitions, sign off on demolition permits, and arrange for accounts to be cut and capped
Conduct periodic audits of accounts and correct errors in customer gas usage
Maintain as-built records from contractors and process general service agreements
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of administrative and/or customer service experience
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and software applications
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college
Administrative experience in a utility environment
Knowledge of company administrative policies and procedures

Physical Demands

Ability to independently operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to bend and/or stoop requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
Ability to grasp/handle small hand tools and other objects
Vision correctable to 20/40
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs
