Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a Fire Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and testing of life safety systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
  • Identify and report any defects or malfunctions in life safety systems, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of life safety systems with other building systems.
  • Develop and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of inspections.
Requirements
  • Documented experience in sprinkler systems and life safety systems.
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel out of town.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ~5+ years' relevant experience.
  • ~ Repair experience.
  • ~ Backflow certification.
  • ~ NICET Level II certification.
