About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler System Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our life safety product lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices to ensure proper operation of life safety equipment.
  • Learn to complete service acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices.
  • Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using a laptop computer.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes under direct supervision.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time and to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Documented experience in sprinkler systems and a strong understanding of industry standards.
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
  • Willing to travel out of town.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years' relevant experience.
  • Repair experience.
  • Backflow certification.
  • NICET Level II certification.
