Job Summary

Crothall Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare support services, is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our team in Bronx, NY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of patient care and support equipment in our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a wide range of patient care and support equipment to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Manage all assigned equipment and schedules service to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain PM procedures for equipment, and ensure that test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as requested or when circumstances dictate.
  • Collaborate with fellow technical personnel to ensure that they are kept abreast of technical updates and/or device-related problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license for field service positions requiring travel.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
