Job Description

La Clinica Del Pueblo Inc is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with a proven track record of success in the healthcare sector.

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's financial operations, ensuring fiscal sustainability and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in healthcare financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

The CFO will lead the organization's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the mission and long-term sustainability of the FQHC. This will involve managing and overseeing all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.

The CFO will also be responsible for developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and federal grant regulations (HRSA, Medicaid, Medicare). Additionally, the CFO will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the organization's strategic plan, especially as it relates to financial goals and capital investments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial management software and tools, and experience working with diverse populations, especially immigrant and low-income communities.

The CFO will be responsible for leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. The CFO will also be responsible for developing risk management strategies to ensure the long-term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization's financial strategy and ensure alignment with the mission and long-term sustainability of the FQHC.
  • Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and federal grant regulations (HRSA, Medicaid, Medicare).
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the organization's strategic plan, especially as it relates to financial goals and capital investments.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Develop risk management strategies to ensure the long-term financial health of the organization.

Requirements:

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
  • In-depth understanding of nonprofit accounting, federal grant compliance, and FQHC regulations (including HRSA and 340B programs).
  • Proven experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and fiscal management within a healthcare environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, especially immigrant and low-income communities.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools (experience with Sage Intacct, or similar preferred).
