Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Healthcare Patient Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating communication and providing assistance to patients and healthcare providers. This position involves greeting patients, managing schedules, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee patient and provider appointments, adhering to office protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in registration and waiting areas.
  • Welcome and check in patients, ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
  • Verify and update patient information in the practice management system.
  • Ensure that all household and financial information is accurate and up to date.
  • Collect necessary payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
  • Confirm and update patients' insurance details.
  • Prepare informational packets for new patients.
  • Register patient information through the practice management system, including document scanning.
  • Handle incoming calls, take messages, and provide relevant information.
  • Sort and deliver correspondence to the Office Manager.
  • Participate in required meetings.
  • Compile daily batches for the business office.
  • Generate requested daily statistical reports.
  • Alert the Office Manager to potential issues:

Patient Relations

Patient Flow

Staff Coordination, etc.

  • Understand and apply rules regarding information release.
  • Obtain necessary signatures as required.
  • Submit required information according to established procedures.
  • Report any equipment or supply needs to the Office Manager.
  • Notify the Office Manager of any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Gather charge information, perform coding, and enter data accurately.
  • Complete billing and collection tasks, preparing documents for distribution.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Office Manager or Physician.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in a medical office environment.
  • Preferred: Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Preferred: Certification through AAMA.
  • Proficient in computer operations and word processing.

BILINGUAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingual in Armenian and English is preferred.

COMPENSATION

PAY RATE: $18-20 per hour
