About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire safety field inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Review construction plans and material submittals for code compliance
  • Assist with fire prevention projects and events as assigned
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Knowledge of fire hazards inherent in research and industrial processes
  • Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of specific EH&S fields, including related laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated skill to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fire protection systems design and installation requirements
  • Professional certification preferred
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work outside of regular hours and must be able to wear personal protective equipment. A valid California driver's license and participation in the DMV Pull-notice program are also required.
