Position Overview:

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to become a vital member of our research division, the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI). This full-time role offers a hybrid work arrangement and is designed for professionals with a strong background in health services research and cancer epidemiology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of significant research initiatives focused on cancer health services and epidemiology.
  • Secure funding through grant proposals from federal agencies, foundations, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams, including data analysts, project managers, and biostatisticians, to ensure successful project completion.
  • Publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present research outcomes at national conferences.
  • Provide expert consultation for the design and analysis of intramural research studies.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, health services research) or an MD/DO with an advanced degree.
  • A minimum of seven years of post-doctoral experience in cancer epidemiology or a related area, ideally within a healthcare system.
  • A robust publication history in peer-reviewed journals.
  • A proven track record of obtaining extramural research funding.
  • Demonstrated capability to design and manage multiple original research projects and disseminate results effectively.
  • Willingness to commute as required.
