Compensation Range: $3, $3,392.31 bi-weekly

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Services Supervisor (CSS) operates under the direct oversight of the Health Center Manager and indirect clinical supervision from Nursing Administration. The CSS is responsible for executing licensed nursing functions within their professional scope, supervising back-office clinical performance, and ensuring the effective operation of medical and laboratory equipment. This role includes assisting in patient care and treatment, which may involve physically demanding tasks. The CSS collaborates with the Health Center Manager to achieve clinic productivity objectives while ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction and quality care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Engage in patient population management concerning clinical services, considering cultural diversities and local resources.
  2. Utilize Evidence-Based Practice guidelines for effective disease management.
  3. Manage patient flow within the clinic to ensure timely care and rooming of patients.
  4. Assist in patient assessments, including taking vital signs and providing treatment as directed by the healthcare provider.
  5. Document patient symptoms and progress, reporting findings to the provider while adhering to LVN scope of practice.
  6. Administer medications and immunizations as prescribed by the provider.
  7. Coordinate with the Care Team to facilitate comprehensive patient services and care goals.
  8. Educate patients and families, create pre-visit checklists, and lead team huddles.
  9. Maintain accurate medical records of all care coordination activities.
  10. Track outstanding test results and coordinate notifications with support staff.
  11. Ensure the maintenance and operation of medical and laboratory equipment.
  12. Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Department to meet regulatory compliance and assist with report tracking.
  13. Conduct clinic audits and manage laboratory and medication compliance.
  14. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing nursing reviews.
  15. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external consumers.
  16. Demonstrate professionalism in patient communications and uphold customer service standards.
  17. Adapt to a high volume of patients and manage unexpected changes effectively.
  18. Adhere to safety policies and infection control regulations.
  19. Exhibit knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care across various patient demographics.
  20. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

This position includes indirect clinical supervisory responsibilities for back-office staff, such as medical assistants, under the guidance of licensed healthcare providers. The CSS will mentor and train back-office personnel and collaborate with the Health Center Manager to manage staffing schedules and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Graduation from an accredited LVN program with a current LVN license from the State of California.
  • A minimum of two years of recent experience in ambulatory care is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and EHR systems.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to patient care.
  • Experience in managing patient flow and coordinating care.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug screening upon hire. Annual health examinations and immunization documentation are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires regular use of hands for various tasks, standing, walking, and the ability to lift supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, as well as depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts and moderate noise levels typical of a clinical setting. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
