The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering exceptional healthcare support to our patients. Key Duties:
- Back Office Responsibilities: Rooming patients and taking vital signs.
Updating medical histories and accurately documenting patient information in electronic health records (EHR).
Assisting healthcare professionals during patient examinations and procedures.
Preparing patients for various diagnostic tests and treatments.
Maintaining a clean and organized examination room. - Blood Collection: Performing venipuncture and capillary blood draws.
Correctly labeling and managing blood samples for laboratory analysis.
Adhering to infection control and safety protocols during all blood collection activities. - Patient Interaction: Effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, and addressing their inquiries and concerns.
Providing clear post-procedure instructions as directed by healthcare providers. - Medical Supplies Management: Keeping medical supplies stocked in examination rooms.
Ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment and reporting any issues. - Team Collaboration: Working closely with nurses, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure the efficient operation of the healthcare facility.
Participating in team meetings and contributing to the overall patient care strategy. Willingness to assist at the front desk as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or proof of diploma.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, particularly in back office and blood collection.
- Familiarity with front desk processes for potential cross-training.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- CPR certification is preferred.
