As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering hope and promoting recovery. Your lived experiences will inspire others to manage their symptoms effectively and enhance their community living skills.

This is a full-time position with benefits, working Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Share personal recovery experiences to encourage others in their journey.
  • Support individuals in recognizing their resilience and strengths.
  • Facilitate connections between clients and their communities.
  • Assist individuals with mental health and substance use challenges in building supportive networks.
  • Empower clients to make informed choices regarding their treatment.
  • Help clients identify personal resources and set achievable recovery goals.
  • Contribute to the treatment team by providing insights on client Wellness Plans.
  • Complete necessary training and shadow experienced staff until fully certified.
  • Provide transportation assistance as needed; driving is a key responsibility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Includes operating vehicles and engaging with clients in various settings.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health or substance use services.
  • Ability to pass a background check or seek an exception.
  • Completion of a state-approved training program and certification process within 60 days of hire.
  • A valid driver's license and minimum automobile insurance coverage are required.
