Key Responsibilities:
The Certified Respiratory Care Specialist is tasked with managing patients who require respiratory therapy and related equipment. This role involves assessing patient needs, selecting suitable equipment, providing instructions, and troubleshooting services to ensure optimal care; maintaining accurate documentation is essential. New hires will start as RT-1 for a minimum of one year, with potential for advancement to RT-2 based on performance and clinical leadership discretion.
Primary Duties Include:
- Receiving and documenting orders for respiratory services from various stakeholders.
- Gathering necessary information from insurance providers or healthcare professionals.
- Evaluating patient needs to determine the most appropriate respiratory therapy options.
- Educating patients, families, and caregivers on the proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Communicating with healthcare providers regarding changes in patient conditions and adjusting care plans accordingly.
- Completing necessary patient documentation, including treatment plans and assessments.
- Acting as a liaison between SuperCare Health and patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Taking full responsibility for professional actions and maintaining high standards of care.
- Adhering to all relevant policies and procedures as mandated by regulatory bodies.
- Following up with respiratory patients to ensure continuity of care as required.
- Providing on-call services as scheduled, ensuring availability for patient needs.
- Setting up respiratory equipment promptly to guarantee patient satisfaction.
- Collaborating with marketing and other departments as needed.
- Exhibiting professionalism, courtesy, and patience in all patient interactions.
- Supporting SuperCare Health by communicating any concerns or issues that arise.
- Staying informed about all products and services offered.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program (licensed RCP).
- Experience in respiratory therapy.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of respiratory care.
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
- A genuine desire to assist others with a people-centered approach.
- Attention to detail and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
