Job Summary

Roads to Success Inc is seeking a highly motivated and creative Recess Coach to join our team. As a Recess Coach, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging and age-appropriate activities for students in grades K-8.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Planning and Implementation
    • Design and implement dynamic, fun, and inclusive activities for students in grades K-8.
    • Ensure activities cater to a diverse range of interests and abilities.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff to ensure smooth transitions between classroom and recess activities.
  • Time Management and Organization
    • Efficiently manage time to ensure that activities begin and end as scheduled.
    • Organize and prepare materials and spaces needed for each activity.
  • Student Safety and Supervision
    • Monitor students during recess to ensure a safe and positive environment.
    • Lead transitions between recess and lunch periods, ensuring orderly and timely movement of students.
    • Proactively address and resolve potential challenges or conflicts among students.
  • Relationship Building
    • Develop positive relationships with students across different grades and classes.
    • Be a positive role model, demonstrating punctuality, professionalism, and a positive demeanor.
  • Logistical Support
    • Coordinate bathroom breaks for students, adhering to policies that ensure their safety and well-being.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A degree or certification in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead children's activities.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Ability to ensure safety and well-being of participants.
  • Skills in creating inclusive and welcoming environments.
  • Effective implementation of recreational and educational activities.
