Position Summary:

The Educational Technology Specialist will lead the implementation of an innovative educational technology program aimed at achieving treatment objectives and reducing student recidivism. This role is essential in supporting the professional development of educators, ensuring effective integration of instructional technology practices. The specialist will identify and leverage emerging trends in educational technology across various learning environments, including virtual and blended formats.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing instructional support through planning, modeling, co-teaching, and data analysis.
  • Conducting professional development sessions tailored to the needs of educators.
  • Managing the daily operations of the educational technology program.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Education to establish accountability measures and evaluate teacher performance.
  • Assisting with compliance in testing and data collection, ensuring that educational needs are met.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree or higher in Education or a closely related field.
  • A Collegiate Professional Teaching License from the Virginia Department of Education.
  • Experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, preferably within an educational context.
  • Strong knowledge of Virginia regulations regarding nonpublic schools and IEP compliance.
  • Understanding of accreditation requirements and student graduation criteria.
  • Previous experience in a residential treatment setting is preferred.
