Overview: In the role of Marine Operations Supervisor, you will be a recognized leader tasked with managing all facets of production, dry docking, vessel repairs, yard assistance, and administrative duties to guarantee the secure and effective functioning of the shipyard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating budgets and establishing objectives
  • Ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Overseeing and mentoring project and operations managers
  • Coordinating shipyard activities
  • Setting and integrating operational goals
  • Conducting quality assurance for the shipyard

Leadership & Planning:

  • Providing guidance and leadership to project and operations managers
  • Integrating functions within a multi-disciplinary work environment
  • Making decisions based on objectives and resource availability
  • Coordinating operations in line with company policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
  • Translating corporate strategies into actionable plans
  • Employing Continuous Improvement methodologies

Accountability:

  • Reporting directly to the Vice President of Production
  • Setting operational objectives and assignments
  • Conducting quality assurance for the shipyard

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of shipyard management
  • Capability to implement Continuous Improvement strategies
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
  • Leadership skills to inspire and connect with teams
  • Familiarity with regulations, policies, and best practices

Preferred Experience & Training:

  • At least 15 years of experience in shipyard management
  • Experience with Profit and Loss accountability
  • Background in ship repair, particularly with tugs and barges
  • Educational qualifications in production management or engineering
