Job Summary

Rose International is seeking a highly skilled GIS Technician to join our team. As a GIS Technician, you will be responsible for providing QA/QC support for spatial realignment activities, participating in projects to develop and improve the Client GIS system model and related applications, and maintaining and updating landbase information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide QA/QC Support: Ensure the accuracy and quality of spatial data and maps.
  • Develop and Improve GIS System Model: Collaborate with project teams to enhance the Client GIS system model and related applications.
  • Maintain and Update Landbase Information: Update landbase information, including subdivisions, municipal annexations, roads, and other relevant data.
  • Post As-Built Changes: Use GIS software to post as-built changes required due to construction projects.
  • Check Finished Mapping and Drawings: Verify the quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards of finished mapping and detailed drawings.
  • Create Special Maps and Drawings: Prepare special maps, drawings, and reports as required.
  • Provide Maps and Drawings for Customers: Provide maps and specialized drawings for division and internal customers as required.
  • Maintain Transformer Load Management System: Update information in the Transformer Load Management system.
  • Assist in Development of Procedures: Assist in the development of procedures, processes, and methods for system record maintenance.
  • Special Assignments: Assist with special assignments, such as change management, Continuous Improvement, software upgrades/enhancement projects, and mapping & design related tools.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field, preferably in Computer-Aided Design or Engineering Technology.
  • Qualifications: Proficiency with GIS, Auto CAD, or other CAD-related software; one or more years of experience in designing, analyzing, or interpreting construction drawings; and experience in utility design, construction, or supervision.
  • Skills: Good decision-making, communication, and human relations skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office products; and project management skills.
