POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees the daily operations of the asset protection department to safeguard property assets, staff, guests, and facilities. Maintains necessary logs, certifications, and documentation in compliance with legal and operational standards. Trains personnel on established emergency protocols and implements measures for accident and fire prevention. This role emphasizes guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operational budget.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in security, asset protection, or a related field.
OR

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice or a related discipline; 2 years of experience in security, asset protection, or a related field.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing Asset Protection Operations

  • Assists the Engineering Director in implementing fire safety programs and emergency readiness.
  • Conducts risk assessments at the property, including quarterly safety audits, incident tracking, and hazard mitigation processes.
  • Develops comprehensive shutdown procedures to ensure all areas are secured at designated times.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and safety regulations.
  • Adheres to key control protocols in asset protection and throughout the property.
  • Creates a monthly checklist for all surveillance equipment, alarmed entrances, and emergency alarms to confirm functionality.
  • Incorporates inspections of the recording system into patrols covering all property areas.
  • Follows the Duty of Care process to protect guests and staff.
  • Monitors unusual activities on the property that may affect the safety of guests and employees.
  • Addresses complaints, resolves disputes, and negotiates conflicts effectively.
  • Implements strategies to monitor and mitigate risks.
  • Supervises all asset protection operations, including patrol processes, emergency responses, investigations related to guest and employee incidents, and shipping and receiving protocols.
  • Guides the Accident Prevention Committee's initiatives.
  • Manages the first aid program for guests and staff.
  • Oversees the claims process and safeguards company assets by closely monitoring liability and workers' compensation cases.
  • Communicates the significance of safety protocols, ensuring employee comprehension of safety codes and monitoring adherence to procedures.
  • Promotes teamwork and collaboration with other departments to deter criminal activity.
  • Encourages trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Provides personal assistance and support to colleagues and guests.
  • Acts as a role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate others, advocating for sound financial decisions and demonstrating integrity.

Ensuring Outstanding Customer Service

  • Meets quality standards and customer expectations consistently.
  • Identifies the training needs of others, developing educational programs and instructing staff as necessary.
  • Evaluates the performance of the asset protection department to maintain high professionalism and customer service standards.
  • Delivers exceptional services that enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analyzes data and evaluates outcomes to determine the best solutions to problems.
  • Establishes relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Updates executives and peers on relevant information promptly.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors and colleagues through various channels.
The salary range for this position is $54,000 to $71,000 annually.
