Position: Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Remote opportunities are not available

The Supply Chain Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the logistics of import and export operations, ensuring that all shipments are delivered efficiently and in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage proactively with clients, suppliers, transporters, and logistics partners to guarantee successful shipment delivery while adhering to all relevant guidelines.
  • Oversee the logistics of import and export shipments, fulfilling customer requirements and managing shipping operations.
  • Prepare and verify commercial invoices for drop ship exports, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Select suitable freight carriers and transportation methods to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Plan for logistical details to ensure successful shipment delivery, including necessary equipment and labeling.
  • Complete additional documentation such as FCC and FDA forms and secure duty-free certificates for imports.
  • Ensure all import documentation includes accurate contract details to minimize duties and taxes.
  • Manage return shipments both domestically and internationally as required.
  • Prepare shipper declarations for hazardous materials when necessary.
  • Analyze reports to identify orders with specific requirements and engage with suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of new freight carriers.
  • Coordinate directly with selected suppliers and carriers for shipment management.
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries related to import/export operations.
  • Utilize available resources to ensure tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions to address logistics challenges.
  • Obtain freight quotes for bids and ongoing shipments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service or logistics management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in export and/or import operations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. laws and regulations governing import and export activities.
