Position: Junior Fund Accountant
Location: Hybrid (In-Office & Remote)
SUMMARY:
We are seeking motivated candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, who are eager to start their careers in finance and analysis. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen interest in financial operations and reporting.
As a Junior Fund Accountant, your responsibilities will include finance management, reporting, and extensive data entry. You will play a vital role in various fund valuation processes and assist in calculating net asset valuations (NAVs) for a specific range of mutual funds or investment products. This position provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring finance professionals to gain practical experience and contribute meaningfully to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and reconcile daily security trading activities received from fund advisors.
- Ensure accurate recording of all fund transactions within the accounting system.
- Utilize accounting and finance principles to manage various asset types.
- Provide fund advisors with daily forecasts of available cash in a timely and precise manner.
- Conduct daily reconciliations of fund accounting records with custodians, transfer agents, and middle office teams.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for other fund activities and respond to periodic auditor requests for annual fund audits.
- Engage with external business partners regarding general inquiries, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with fund accounting, transfer agent, and middle office departments as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, banking, business, economics, or a related discipline; alternatively, a degree with a minor or interest in finance.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work in the office at least once a week.
- Initial training will be conducted in the office for the first two weeks.
- Candidates should reside in proximity to the office location.
