Position Overview
State Street Corporation is a leading provider of administrative services tailored for Hedge Fund and Private Equity managers within our Alternative Investment Solutions division.
Role Responsibilities
As an AVP in Fund Accounting & Administration, you will oversee a dynamic team of financial services professionals dedicated to delivering comprehensive accounting and administrative services for multiple alternative investment client relationships.
Your primary duties will include:
- Allocating income to investors and determining management and incentive fees based on established waterfall provisions.
- Processing capital events such as capital calls and distributions.
- Managing portfolio and fund-level accounting for various funds, including the review and approval of monthly or quarterly net asset value reports.
- Leading the onboarding of existing client funds and facilitating the launch of new funds.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Designing and advocating for technology solutions to meet complex reporting and data requirements.
- Identifying cross-sell opportunities and participating in strategic initiatives to enhance operational processes.
- Recruiting, training, and developing staff to achieve their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management capabilities.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in Private Equity.
- Familiarity with alternative investment asset classes, complex fund structures, and fee calculations.
- Strong communication and management skills.
- The ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- CPA qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with Investran or Geneva is advantageous but not required.
