Bakery Operations Supervisor

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company with a strong presence in the specialty frozen baked goods market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and plan weekly production and employee schedules in conjunction with the Materials Management department to ensure efficient use of resources and meet customer deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate job safety analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance staff to inspect and measure products, and train employees to identify and address quality issues.
  • Direct employees in adjusting machines, equipment, and work processes to improve production methods, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Develop and implement changes to working conditions and equipment to improve productivity and employee performance.
  • Resolve worker issues and escalate unresolved matters to the Human Resources department.
  • Develop capital equipment justifications to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
  • Document line inefficiencies and downtime to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or three years of related bakery or food manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • At least two years of experience working at a bakery operation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software is an asset.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
