**Job Summary**
MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Emergency Services Technician to provide high-quality patient care and support in our Emergency Department.
The ideal candidate will assist nursing staff in delivering basic nursing care to patients with varying physical needs, while performing a range of invasive and non-invasive procedures under medical supervision.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Enter patient information into EKG machines, place electrodes, record EKGs, and download data into the computer system.
- Perform eye irrigations and visual acuity testing.
- Take vital signs and provide basic nursing support, including responding to call lights, collecting specimens, and transporting patients and medical equipment.
- Assist medical staff with wound care, including immobilizing limbs and gathering supplies.
- Monitor, receive, and stock equipment and supplies in designated areas.
- May assist in the orientation and training of EMT-P students, as directed.
**Requirements:**
- Successful completion of a department in-service training program within the first six weeks of employment.
- 1 to 3 years of clinical hospital or EMS experience, with hospital experience preferred.
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification.
