Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is pivotal in overseeing the marketing and business development strategies to align with our corporate objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, advertising, promotional campaigns, special events, and community engagement.



Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Marketing Planning: Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to formulate annual marketing strategies that support the organization’s growth objectives. Regularly assess progress and adapt strategies to meet evolving market conditions.
  2. Leadership Development: Inspire and guide the marketing team to achieve high levels of productivity and efficiency. Ensure that the core values of Mediabistro are integrated into the marketing operations.
  3. Risk Management: Establish and uphold policies that ensure compliance with industry regulations while promoting operational security and growth.
  4. Technology and Research: Equip the marketing teams with the necessary tools and resources to meet strategic goals and continuously improve operational efficiency.
  5. Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  6. Community Engagement: Actively participate in community initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of Mediabistro.
  7. Project Coordination: Lead cross-departmental projects to ensure timely completion and successful implementation of marketing initiatives.
  8. Communications Strategy: Design and execute comprehensive communication plans that align with Mediabistro’s mission and enhance brand visibility.
  9. Business Development: Direct efforts to foster relationships with community partners and achieve membership growth.
  10. Member Experience Enhancement: Utilize feedback to identify areas for improvement in member satisfaction and develop strategies to enhance the overall experience.
  11. Sales Support: Provide marketing assistance to the sales team to ensure alignment with corporate growth strategies.
  12. Vendor Management: Maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors to optimize collaboration and efficiency.


Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in marketing disciplines are advantageous.

Experience: A minimum of 12 years in marketing management, preferably within a sales-driven environment. Experience in the media or marketing industry is preferred.

Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills are essential. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across teams is critical.
