Baking and Pastry Cook

About the Role:
This position is responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods and pastries, focusing on quality, presentation, and taste. The ideal candidate will possess strong baking techniques, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards.
- Manage ingredient inventory, maintain organized workstations, and practice proper food rotation.
- Inspect products for taste, texture, and presentation; adapt recipes for special requests or seasonal ingredients.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to coordinate timing and ensure baked items are ready for service.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in baking areas, equipment, and utensils, adhering to food safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year cooking experience required.
- Active Food Handlers certificate required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this role is $22-$26 per hour, based on industry standards and location considerations. Benefits include Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays for eligible Full-Time Employees, Restaurant Discounts, Wine Education Reimbursement, Referral Incentives, Volunteer Opportunities, Career Advancement Opportunities, and Sick Pay in accordance with California's Sick Leave Law.
