Cook Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Aramark in Santa Cruz County. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a crucial role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our clients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a cook or in a related role, with a validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is estimated to range from $22.00 to $24.00, depending on circumstances. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. At Aramark, we care about your health and offer a safe working environment.
