Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will deliver comprehensive accounting and financial services aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. This position encompasses general accounting tasks, account reconciliations, and the preparation and presentation of financial statements and analytical reports. The role also includes leading monthly analyses, forecasting, and the annual budgeting process for designated responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance business growth; conduct analyses in assigned areas and prepare monthly performance reports for management review.
  • Engage with various departments on intricate business matters affecting financial forecasts.
  • Facilitate optimal capital allocation for both internal and external stakeholders; create and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Support decision-making processes regarding Make vs. Buy and capital project funding requests.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to maximize value for customers; partner with management in planning, measuring, and reporting on the performance of assigned areas while pinpointing avenues for profitability enhancement through pricing strategies or cost efficiencies.
  • Oversee the monthly closing process for designated areas and business segments, which may involve account reconciliations and reviewing the monthly financial reporting package in accordance with Corporate Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist in managing and administering business systems and procedures; lead initiatives to validate the effectiveness of new processes and update documentation related to internal controls.
  • Develop user-friendly systems, processes, and metrics; supervise shared services tasks following standard work instructions.
  • Monitor and analyze key operational benchmarks; lead root cause investigations and formulate action plans as necessary.
  • Champion the Oshkosh People First competencies to engage, develop, and connect team members.
  • Identify and promote continuous improvement projects while utilizing Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) tools and concepts; drive advanced analyses in assigned business areas and create innovative solutions that enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or treasury.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international accounting standards.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Frequent activities include hearing, talking, visual tasks, sitting, and typing; occasional activities may involve standing, walking, reaching, and fine manual dexterity; seldom activities include driving, bending, and lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.
