Position Overview

This position is pivotal in executing the corporate trade compliance program for AFNA, ensuring adherence to trade compliance policies, regulations, and directives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain various free trade agreements annually.
  • Oversee HTS classification, ECCN, and global licensing programs for produced and purchased items.
  • Analyze Broker performance reports for compliance issues.
  • Conduct US and Canadian Post Entry Filing with Customs Authorities.
  • Foster effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations and recommend necessary policy adjustments.
  • Provide training on trade risk assessment.
  • Conduct audits on import and export documentation and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Propose enhancements to current processes and procedures.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and accurately to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Educate corporate partners on import and export operations through effective communication.
  • Perform internal audits related to finance practices and import valuation.
  • Prepare and present trade risk analyses for business units and divisions.
  • Assist in preparing compliance governance presentations for various management levels.
  • Deliver training specific to import and export activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis based on audit findings and manage compliance issue resolutions.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Current US Customs Brokers License preferred.
  • Experience with Canadian Import & Customs.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of corporate trade compliance experience required.
  • Experience with ACE - US Customs Automated Commercial Environment required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an office environment for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
