Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the corporate trade compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and regulations.
- Manage the classification of products under HTS and ECCN, as well as global licensing initiatives.
- Analyze broker performance and compliance metrics to identify potential issues.
- Conduct post-entry filings with U.S. and Canadian Customs Authorities.
- Foster strong working relationships across all organizational levels.
- Monitor changes in trade regulations and recommend necessary updates to compliance procedures.
- Deliver training on trade risk assessments to relevant stakeholders.
- Perform audits on import and export documentation to ensure compliance with established policies.
- Propose enhancements to existing processes based on audit findings.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with corporate partners to support import and export operations.
- Conduct internal audits related to finance practices and import valuation.
- Prepare and present trade risk analyses for various business units.
- Assist in developing compliance training for management and staff.
- Address compliance issues identified during audits through root cause analysis.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all operations.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Current U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred.
- Experience with Canadian import and customs regulations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate trade compliance is required.
- Experience with the U.S. Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is essential.
- Ability to engage frequently with various stakeholders.
- Capability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
