Fulcrum Technology Solutions: Seeking a Sr. Security Analyst

We are working with a client to find a highly skilled Sr. Security Analyst to join their team in Houston. This is a hybrid role with a mix of on-site and remote work.

As a Sr. Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our information systems from cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network security, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor security access and conduct regular assessments to identify potential risks.
  • Develop and implement robust security measures and controls to protect our systems and data.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with security best practices.
  • Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents to minimize their impact.
  • Install security measures and manage software to protect our systems and information infrastructure.
  • Document security breaches and assess their impact on our organization.
  • Collaborate with the security team to conduct tests and identify network vulnerabilities.
  • Remediate identified vulnerabilities to maintain high security standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on IT security trends and emerging threats to ensure our systems remain secure.
  • Develop and promote company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Conduct penetration testing to evaluate system defenses and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist colleagues in installing security software and understanding information security management.
  • Research security enhancements and provide recommendations to management to improve our security posture.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with various information security frameworks and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Ability to educate non-technical audiences on security measures and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with the security team and other stakeholders.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new security skills, tactics, and solutions to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Experience with administering endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools to identify and respond to security threats.
  • Experience with managing email security gateways to protect against phishing and other email-based attacks.
  • Experience with configuring and administering network firewalls to control access to our systems and data.
  • Familiarity with computer network penetration testing and techniques to identify vulnerabilities and improve our security posture.
