About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at QVELL, LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert engineering services and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and finalize reports and work plans that recommend action considering short and long-range objectives, economic and budget considerations, etc.
  • Develop and coordinate departmental project work plans and manage through completion, taking needed correction action.
  • Lead the development of work plans and monitor actual progress of applicable portions, taking any corrective action required.
  • Complete status reports for all work assignments and keep management informed on progress.
  • Provide technical representation in meetings with clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Successfully manage complex assignments on a routine basis.
  • Train and develop less experienced engineers.
  • Provide work direction to other staff and contractors on projects as assigned.
  • Manage multiple assignments and mentor other staff.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations and/or decisions.
  • Maintain and approve technical records, such as drawings, files, and databases.
  • Oversee and/or complete the preparation of estimates, including cost, work order, and schedules.
  • Thoroughly understand all relevant procedures, specifications, and applicable codes, regulations, compliance rules, and standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members and supervisors in carrying out assignments.
  • Thoroughly understand how decision-making and work product impacts other systems, operations, and processes.
  • Provide engineering assistance for our clients.
  • Create corporate standards and specifications related to respective expertise.
  • Requires mature engineering knowledge and judgment of sound engineering practices and standards.
  • Demonstrates strong technical expertise and awareness of job-related field and continues to remain current on the industry.
  • Performs all work in a safe and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program required.
  • Registered Professional Engineering license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky preferred.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering work experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of business acumen, cooperative financial structure, and business plans.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to lead and provide work direction to others.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of cooperative business.
  • Ability to present technical information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with other contacts, both inside and outside the cooperative.
  • Proven ability to creatively apply technical skills to projects and activities.
  • Ability to think logically and understand instructions on specific objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned work activities.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other common business applications required.
