Dispatch Supervisor

The Dispatch Supervisor will oversee the Order Takers/Support Center team, ensuring proper dispatching and scheduling in a timely and effective manner. This role requires strong leadership skills to ensure team compliance with direction and assignments. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of geographical areas and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing. Proficiency with dispatch and record-keeping systems is also essential. The Dispatch Supervisor will interact and communicate professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors, customers, and external partners. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, high integrity, and excellent communication and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a large team of Order Takers/Support Center team members
- Monitor customer connections with dispatchers in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all scheduling is completed and adjusted as required
- Provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
- Oversee order status, delivery arrangements, and services
- Utilize the dispatch system to monitor drivers throughout the day
- Create the next-day driver schedule to ensure customer needs are met
- Conduct job service checks for jobs that have been out for 30 days or more
- Complete a final edit of each job ensuring the ticket has all required information for billing
- Interact and communicate professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors, customers, and external partners
- Build relationships with City Municipalities to ensure project efficiency and quality
- Ensure the team has all necessary equipment
- Conduct Safety meetings and Approve Payroll
- Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED completion
- 3-5 years in supervising and dispatch experience
- Must have open availability - hours may vary based on workload
- Strong leadership skills to ensure Order Takers and Drivers' compliance with direction and assignments
- Basic understanding of geographical areas and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing
- Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and record-keeping systems
- Ability to work independently with little instruction and adapt to change at a fast pace and under pressure
- High integrity and a strong work ethic
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness
- High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude
- Bilingual is a plus but not required
