Safety Assistant Job Summary

The Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Assistant to maintain a safe learning and working environment for all students and staff on school campuses. As a key member of the district's safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor campus activities and events to uphold all campus and district rules and regulations.
  • Assess campus buildings and grounds to ensure only authorized individuals are on campus and students do not leave campus grounds without permission.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff to support a positive campus climate.
  • Escort disruptive students from the classroom to the administration office, supervise students awaiting intervention, and de-escalate physical and verbal altercations.
  • Inform dispatch, campus safety supervisor, or safety assistant senior of campus activities.
  • Participate in mandatory district and local in-service training programs.
  • Support the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District 210 and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Some previous experience in security or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Arizona state driver's license.
  • Current Red Cross first aid certificate and CPR certificate.
  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
