Job Overview

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Analyst is tasked with designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, including test plans, cases, and scripts, with a focus on functionality, performance, SQL expertise, REST API validation, and the development of test cases. The Business Intelligence Team is engaged in vital internal operational projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and the creation of business intelligence solutions for M3.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities outlined below represent the core functions of this role, which may evolve based on organizational needs. All team members are expected to fulfill necessary tasks and collaborate fully with their supervisors regarding additional or modified responsibilities.

  • Test Strategy Development: Formulate and execute test plans, cases, and scripts to rigorously assess the functionality and performance of our business intelligence and process automation systems.
  • SQL Expertise: Employ SQL to craft and run database queries for data validation and integration assessments.
  • REST API Validation: Execute testing of RESTful APIs to verify that data retrieval, integration, and communication processes align with established standards.
  • Defect Management: Detect, document, and monitor software defects and irregularities, collaborating closely with the development team to address issues.
  • Automation of Testing: Partner with the development team to automate test cases, improving efficiency and coverage.
  • Regression Analysis: Conduct regression testing to ensure that software updates and enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionalities.
  • Quality Assurance Standards: Uphold and implement quality assurance standards and best practices, ensuring all deliverables meet or surpass quality expectations.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory, with a strong preference for a major in IT, MIS, or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an agile development environment utilizing Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server databases is essential.
  • Experience with tools such as Postman for REST API testing is required.
  • Familiarity with various software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLCs) and agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated data analysis, verification, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Services, SSMS, SSIS, and VS Code.
  • Proficiency in Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Sisense, Tableau, or Power BI.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to work on a computer for prolonged durations.
  • Attendance at work as per assigned schedule and participation in meetings with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to lift and bend to handle weights up to 25 lbs.
