Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Tekni-Plex. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our food packaging products.

Your primary focus will be on planning, coordinating, and enforcing the Safe Quality Foodservice (SQF) program within our plant location. This will include training, document control, self-audits, external audits, and continuous improvement of processes to ensure SQF products are supplied to our customers to their satisfaction.

You will also be responsible for setting goals and objectives to ensure the continual optimization of the quality function and effectively mitigating risk. Additionally, you will develop and maintain a plant-level quality management system, including quality manuals and auditing of practices.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving plant standards, procedures, and program plans for achieving and maintaining the required level of product quality, reliability, and functional validity.
  • Leading plant interface of operations, sales, and customers to acquire information and resolve issues.
  • Managing the plant quality performance measurement systems to promote and implement continuous quality improvements.
  • Defining specifications and calibration methods of test equipment.
  • Providing plant personnel training on quality assurance and SQF/HACCP topics.
  • Utilizing the Cost of Quality Report to establish measurable criteria and maintain cost reduction as a principle business objective.
  • Interviewing and recommending applicants for hire as plant Quality employees.
  • Implementing methods, tools, and procedures to test, record, and assess quality.
  • Planning and coordinating work, training, motivating, monitoring, and evaluating performance of quality employees.
  • Tracking, analyzing, and leading plant initiatives for quality and customer complaint issues within the division.

Requirements:

  • Seven plus years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Production Operations, or related field.
  • Advanced technical understanding of quality measurement techniques and associated equipment.
  • Computer skills required for data analysis, multiple graphs, reports, and charts.
  • SQFI and HACCP Certification, CPR and first-aid Certified, optional ISO, Certified Quality Manager, Auditor, Engineer, Technician, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
