Denver, Colorado, United States Maybell Quantum Industries Full time
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Thermal Solutions Architect to help us develop next-generation cooling infrastructure for quantum computers. Successful candidates will have a strong background in cryogenics and thermal engineering, with demonstrated ability to transfer commercial or academic research to fast-paced innovation, prototyping, and deployment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and 5-8 years of hands-on experience with liquid nitrogen and liquid helium systems, including designing, building, or significantly modifying cryogenic systems. Proficiency in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics, with skills in designing mechanical systems that operate reliably at cryogenic temperatures, is also essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop initial high-level designs of large-scale cryogenic systems, focusing on thermal management from room temperature to sub-Kelvin temperatures.
  • Conduct in-depth research on potential solutions to specific cryogenic challenges, utilizing scientific literature and emerging technologies to inform design strategies.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis and modeling to evaluate and determine the best solutions, employing computational tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Python) for thermal and fluid dynamics simulations.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Additional compensation in equity and bonus.
