The Library Resource Access Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Stetson University by delivering exceptional service to all library patrons and facilitating the acquisition of materials from external libraries for the benefit of Stetson library users.

As a key member of the duPont-Ball Library Team, the Coordinator will oversee tasks related to the interlibrary loan (ILL) process and the services provided by the Circulation Department.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilizing OCLC's ILL borrowing module; requesting and managing materials from other libraries to ensure they are accessible to Stetson University users; and staffing the library's Information Desk.

In alignment with Stetson's Strategic Priorities, the Library Resource Access Coordinator will enhance student and faculty success by providing essential materials for academic pursuits while fostering an inclusive library environment. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Process all ILL borrowing requests and ensure timely delivery of requested items to library users.

2. Manage the return of borrowed items by preparing them for shipment through the university's postal services.

3. Collaborate with circulation staff to ensure borrowed physical items are readily available to library users.

4. Work with the Acquisitions Department to procure items not accessible through interlibrary loan.

5. Maintain a copyright log for ILL borrowing; track ILL borrowing and lending statistics, and compile an annual report for each fiscal year; order supplies for ILL operations.

6. Keep procedures documentation for ILL borrowing up to date.

7. Stay informed about the latest ILL practices and procedures.

8. Train and supervise student employees involved in ILL.

9. Serve as a backup for ILL Lending, including processing requests and preparing items for shipment.

10. Staff the Circulation Desk as needed, managing various circulation-related transactions such as checking out, checking in, and renewing library materials, as well as creating and updating user records.

11. Occasionally open the library building when the Circulation Coordinator is unavailable.

12. Implement special procedures for audiovisual equipment, including data erasure, device recharging, ensuring all contents are accounted for during check-in and check-out, and reporting any malfunctioning equipment.

13. Address inquiries from library patrons regarding library policies and procedures; respond to basic reference questions and refer more complex queries to the on-call librarian.

14. Assist patrons with the use of computers, printers, copiers, and scanners; troubleshoot routine issues encountered by patrons with library equipment.

15. Collaborate with Circulation Supervisors to train and oversee Circulation student employees.

16. Assist with special shelving projects in the circulating collection as required.

17. Perform other site and position-specific functions as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Ability to work in-person, 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, starting at 8 am Tuesday – Friday, and 9:30 am on Saturday.

- Strong customer service skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

- Capability to lift 25 pounds.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.

- Proficient knowledge of Excel.

- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree.

- Experience supervising work-study students.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duPont-Ball Library is a typical academic library featuring spaces for collaboration, discussion, and independent study. Noise levels are moderate on the main floor, where collaborative study is encouraged, while perimeter areas are more suited for quiet study. The library's temperature may vary throughout the year.
